Location: Atlanta, GA

U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) announced that Alpharetta-based Silver Oak Leaf, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, won a $10.7 million contract with the federal government to make uniforms for U.S. service members. The contract, awarded by the Defense Logistics Agency, contains a base performance period of 18 months, with three additional one-year options.

"As a veteran-owned business, Silver Oak Leaf uses firsthand experience to design state-of-the-art uniforms to better protect our troops," said Loeffler. "This contract supports American jobs -- and Georgia jobs -- and is a great example of how a public-private partnership can help our heroes on both sides of these efforts to better serve our nation at home and abroad. I look forward to seeing Silver Oak Leaf's tremendous contributions to our state's economy for many years to come."

Background:

Loeffler, the daughter and granddaughter of veterans who serves on the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, introduced the Verification Alignment and Service-disabled Business Adjustment (VA-SBA) Act to streamline the federal contracting process for all veteran-owned small businesses and ensure that contracts reserved for service-disabled veterans are actually available for qualified entrepreneurs.
